How to Build a Church Safety Team (Fast) + Horse-Assisted Grief Support for Kids

Just the Truth focuses on “Securing Sacred Spaces” — Faith-Focused Church Security Training (Sept 25)

Host: C&C Indoor Range — Asheville Hwy, Boiling Springs, SC (CCIndoorRange.com)
When: September 25 (2-hour workshop)
Who it’s for: Pastors, elders, deacons, ushers/greeters, safety team members, church/school staff, volunteers (armed or unarmed). No prior license or experience required.

Houses of worship are often labeled “soft targets,” but they don’t have to be. Securing Sacred Spaces is a practical workshop built specifically for church environments—balancing spiritual priorities with real-world preparedness.

What You’ll Learn

  • Recognizing Pre-Attack Indicators
Spot behavioral red flags early (fixation, scouting behavior, boundary testing, agitated body language, concealed carry tells, “probe” questions at doors).

  • Emergency Action Plans
Build evacuation, lockdown, and medical response procedures that work on Sundays (auditorium + kids’ wing + parking lot).

  • Legal & Liability Basics
Use-of-force considerations, carry on church property, documentation, coordination with local law enforcement.

  • Insurance 101 for Churches
What’s commonly covered, where gaps appear, and how to document incidents to protect your congregation and your team.

  • Team Roles That Work
Team lead, exterior/door posts, internal rover, medical responder, communications coordinator—plus comms discipline and hand-off points.

  • Sample Security Plans
Templates and checklists scaled for small, mid-size, and large congregations.
