At least 132 deaths in six Southeastern states have been attributed to Hurricane Helene — a number that climbed Monday as a clearer picture emerged of the damage it inflicted on an area stretching from Florida’s Gulf Coast northward to the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia.
ALSO… President Biden got defensive Monday during a press conference when he was pressed by a reporter on who was in command over the weekend to direct hurricane response since he was at his beach home in Delaware.
President Joe Biden is expected to travel to North Carolina on Wednesday to observe the damage.
Rev. Franklin Graham, CEO of Samaritan’s Purse joined former President Donald Trump in Valdosta, Georgia, on Monday to support those devastated by Hurricane Helene.
