House Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar has opposed stricter voter ID requirements in his home state of California. Now, following federal charges against 28 noncitizens in California election-related cases, critics are questioning his position.
The Justice Department says 11 people were arrested in the latest operation, with 28 defendants charged overall. The allegations involve unlawful voter registration and, in many cases, voting by people who were not U.S. citizens.

Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is pushing back against allegations concerning her former marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
Omar denies that she married a sibling or entered into a marriage to obtain immigration benefits.
The controversy has generated renewed national attention amid reports of a federal investigation, but the underlying allegations have not been established in court.

GREENVILLE’S PROPOSED PENNY SALES TAX — CARLTON OWEN JOINS US
Greenville County voters are being asked to approve another penny sales tax on November 3.
Carlton Owen, chairman of Investing for Greenville’s Future, joins us to discuss the proposal and explain why his organization believes the additional tax is needed.
The countywide proposal would add a 1% sales tax on eligible purchases to fund roads, bridges, intersections, transit and land preservation.
Supporters say the proposal would help address years of infrastructure needs in one of South Carolina’s fastest-growing areas.
But many taxpayers have a different question: Why does government keep coming back asking for just one more penny?
