Just the Truth Podcast with Joey Hudson

An Atlanta rapper who flaunted private jets, luxury cars and stacks of cash is now facing federal charges in an alleged multimillion-dollar food stamp fraud scheme. And he’s just one of the defendants caught up in a nationwide crackdown on fraud involving taxpayer-funded benefits.

Mercedes Reshard New, known online as Shawty Dred, has been indicted on 63 federal counts involving alleged SNAP fraud, mail fraud, identity theft and illegal transactions with access devices.

Federal prosecutors accuse him of obtaining more than $4 million in food assistance benefits through hundreds of fraudulent accounts between 2020 and 2026.

The charges come as the Trump administration announces a nationwide enforcement initiative targeting tens of millions of dollars in alleged fraud involving federal nutrition and agricultural programs.

How did investigators uncover the alleged scheme? What role did stolen identities and electronic benefit cards play? And how could money intended to feed struggling families end up in fraudulent accounts?

We’ll examine the federal charges, the rapper’s extravagant social media presence and the larger effort to protect taxpayer-funded assistance programs.

ILHAN OMAR RETURNS WITH A REQUEST FOR CAMPAIGN DONATIONS

Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has released a new video thanking supporters and asking for additional contributions as she faces a federal investigation.

In the video, Omar says supporters have already sent donations and argues that challenging President Donald Trump and his administration will be expensive.

She also accuses the administration of attempting to intimidate political opponents ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

Omar’s Washington, D.C., home was searched earlier this month as part of an investigation reportedly involving immigration paperwork.

She denies wrongdoing, and no criminal conviction has established the allegations under investigation.

We’ll look at what Omar actually said, the reaction to her fundraising appeal and the latest developments in the investigation.

TEXAS SENATE RACE: COULD DEMOCRATS BREAK A 30-YEAR STREAK?

Texas hasn’t elected a Democrat to statewide office in more than three decades, but the 2026 U.S. Senate race is drawing national attention.

Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico are locked in a highly competitive contest, according to recent polling.

The race could have major consequences for which party controls the United States Senate after November 3.

We’ll examine the new Fox News polling, the issues shaping the contest and why Texas is attracting so much attention this election cycle.

PRESIDENT TRUMP RALLIES FOR DARLINE GRAHAM IN SOUTH CAROLINA

President Donald Trump traveled to the Clemson area Wednesday night to support Republican Senator Darline Graham in her campaign against Democrat Annie Andrews.

The president’s appearance comes as the South Carolina Senate race has become more competitive than many Republicans expected.

Trump urged supporters to back Graham, praised her late brother, Senator Lindsey Graham, and addressed national political issues during the rally.

The event also featured disruptions by protesters and renewed attention to differences between Trump and Graham over U.S. sanctions on Russia.

What does Trump’s visit tell us about the South Carolina race? Will his endorsement help unify Republican voters? And what should we watch as early voting continues?

We’ll recap the rally and discuss the political stakes heading into November 3.
